The Role of Management in Building the Character of Santri in Lombok

In the madrasah or pesantren education system, of course there are madrasah leaders known as kiyai while their students are known as santri. Santri who are commonly known as religious knowledge in the view of society, there is one thing that is more seen, namely character. As a nation that embraces an eastern culture that has characteristics and a holistic way of life, the Indonesian people feel the need to defend themselves from the process of degradation of the nation's character which is starting to fade. Character education has a higher meaning than moral education, because character education is not only related to issues of right and wrong, but how to instill high habits, awareness, sensitivity, and understanding as well as concern and commitment to apply virtues in everyday life. Thus it can be said that a person with character is a person's natural character in responding to situations morally which is manifested in concrete actions through good behavior, honesty, sincerity, responsibility, respect for others and other noble character values. To realize or build this, management has a role in this case how to create students with character so that it is not just a conversation, but there is no evidence that students must have character.
